[Q] Ale Panie Docencie, gdyby Pan zechciał więcej opowiedzieć o pracy w Pirogowie i o zabiegach, które były robione, i o rewaskularyzacji nową metodą.

Ona zaczęła to u Feniksena.

I Sodi Pallares był... no, wszystko jedno.

[Q] Perhaps you'd like to say something more about your work in Pirogow and about the procedures that were done there and revascularisation using the new method.

Yes, that happened, too. That was a great time.

[Q] That, too, was a time of enormous enthusiasm and eagerness.

For example, Elżbieta was doing her PhD. She'd begun doing it with Fenigsen. In any case, the thesis, etc, the idea, Sodi Pallares, I had no idea what Sodi Pallares was, what to make of it...

[Q] Who is, who is Sodi Pallares?

Who is Sodi Pallares? I asked because there were two, one was a Cuban fascist, and Sodi Pallares was... it doesn't matter. Sodi Pallares thought of this new thing in electrocardiography - localisation and Rysiek gave this to Elżbieta as a topic for her to check it and see if it's true. But Rysiek left and she was left here with this topic. This is how it went, first you did an electrocardiogram, then you attended the autopsy on the patient who'd died, and you looked to see whether the diagnosis matched the image. So this is what she did over and over, I don't know how many cases.

[Q] One hundred.

One hundred. And everything concurred so it turned out that Sodi Pallares was OK, the PhD was done in Wrocław, we went there and had a huge celebration, Falkiewicz was still there then, a great cardiologist, congratulating not me but this young lady, then we had lunch in the Metropol, it was amazing. This was the first triumph of its kind at the Pirogow.
