[Q] A Dien Bien Phu?

A Dien Bien Phu. On lui a dit: non.

And so eventually on the day of the departure, we had already paid for our rooms, we were about to leave when we were told Carmen was in the hotel and wanted to see us. So he fell into Schoendoerffer's arms because they had already met when they were...

[Q] In Dien Bien Phu?

In Dien Bien Phu. So the guy claps his hands. Because in the hotels, there's always... there was always a woman in the halls, who was there to... Theoretically, you couldn't ask her for anything, at least in regards to the hotel. But she was actually there to supervise, no doubt to see what was going on, if there weren't any... She was a spy. So he clapped his hands and asked for I don't know what, and they arrived with a bowl of Caviar and then... So it was eight in the morning, and also a litre of vodka. We ate it with teaspoons. We got to the airport, we got on the plane, so it was the first time that we were taking that plane, which was the equivalent of the Concorde with those two things on the back. It was actually quite amusing because there were... Since they had standardised everything, we found the same ashtrays as in the Dakotas, and then there were really old fashioned little lamps with small lace placed on the tables. And we settled in. We fell asleep straight away; the stewardess woke us up to ask us if we wanted steak. We said: no. And so we arrived in Prague, by then we'd had enough time to sleep off our...

[Q] Your vodka!

Our vodka. So we were astanded by Prague, which us a beautiful city.

[Q] Prague is very beautiful, I know.

But at the time it was...

[Q] It's an extraordinary city!

It was a beautiful city, covered by soot, because everything was black with soot, it was sinister; there was a dreadful impression of misery. We really struggled to find a restaurant. But at the same time, despite all the dirt that there was, we spent an incredible day walking around. The sun was out. Now that it's clean it must be sumptuous.
