The relationship with other cinematographers

So first of all, I don't really have any relationship with other cinematographers, we only meet when Kodak or Fuji organises something because the rest of the time everyone is working. I'm quite good friends with a few of them, in particular Glenn. I know that... I don't know if I said it earlier: I don't have enemies but all my friends hate me. But I'm a little like that, there are loads of people in the business who don't like me. I met Alekan and I think he's a fantastic cinematographer. I also met... No, but I never argued with anyone. Anyway, I never say anything bad about anyone. I remember that the first cinematographer that I met was Michel Kielbert, because I'd told Beauregard that there were things that I found interesting in lighting, and wanted to ask someone about it. So Beauregard had told me, 'I worked with him, go see him on behalf of me'. So I went to see him and asked my question. Which is a stupid question but has its purpose. I asked him... I told him, 'When we want to do cinematography, is it more interesting to have one big light source or several small ones?' So he laughed and never answered. But it's true. So afterwards, we can think... At one point loads of people told me, 'You should come to the CST', so I asked for my membership. So you had to pull some strings... well, no, you had to be represented by two members of the CST, which I was. Christian Matras, who was the president at the time, he refused my application. And I never applied again.
