Oui, oui.

With costume designers there are inevitably... So theoretically there are often... Well, theoretically there are always discussions where we gather what we call the creative positions, where everyone gets to explain their problems and their worries and... So inevitably there are heated discussions. So I mean... I guess you're talking about this because of the muddles I got into with the costumer designer for Max my Love. I don't remember it very well.

Well, all right. I'll tell you about it again. When you talk to the costume designers, there's always the issue of having to say, 'Careful, try not go into these colours too much because we really struggle to channel them in the lab', etc. And one of the things that needs to be done, or not done, for example you can't use black and white costumes, because there's nothing worse, because we can't... If we control the white we no longer control the black. And you need to avoid using complimentary colours, for instance cyan and magenta. And when we filmed at the zoo, the costume designer had dressed I don't know who... The English actress.

[Q] An English actress? I don't remember. When they're in the zoo and they watch the monkeys?

Yes, yes. Yes, it's an English actress. I don't remember. Either way, I was only looking at the costumes, I didn't see who was in them. It was... She was dressed in a cyan outfit, with big magenta cuffs. So I went to tell the costume designer off, but she didn't know what was wrong, she didn't know about it. And in the evening there was a scene in a street, the actress arrived, Nagissa was split in half laughing when he saw her arrive, he must have not seen the costumes beforehand, neither had I in fact. She arrived in black and white for a night scene. And Nagissa was laughing like crazy, so naturally I had a go at the poor girl again. But either way she didn't understand what I was telling her. There are people, you tell them, you scream at them, they say, 'That guy's got a bad temper'. It's true that I have a bad temper because I could have said it in a nice way.
