I forgot to mention that after I left Etzel, increasingly I began to feel that I belong to the left. I published my first pamphlet to appear in print when I was 19 or so. It was called Terrorism - the Infantile Disease of the Hebrew Revolution, in which I bluntly attacked the very idea that it is possible to free the country by means of terror. I said it was outdated, that it stems from 19th century Europe and would require a massive grassroots uprising. In other words, it was necessary to create a large mass movement that would instigate this revolution. And that's it. It appeared. I do not think that there were many responses to it, but it appeared. After that came In the Struggle and that already generated a great fuss, a lot of confusion because of the false allegation that it had derived from within Haganah itself.  Although it was not actually specified anywhere, but whoever picked up the pamphlet could see the style, the layout, everything was reminiscent of the 'Land of Israel Workers', the kibbutzim and so forth. When the end of the Commission of Inquiry approached, and it was already evident that partition would be forthcoming, I wrote a pamphlet published in In the Struggle which was entitled War or Peace in the Semitic Region, in which I set forth a plan, a whole new ideology, which derived from the ideology of In the Struggle. I warned against the partition. I said that it would result in an eternal war and I said that the only real solution is the Hebrew movement or that the Arab movement will unite into a common national movement, expel the British from the country and establish a State − not a bi-national state or a one-nation state, but one nation that will be both Hebrew and Arab. I had never believed in a bi-national movement; in my opinion that is something which would be impossible to implement.
